Imagine getting a phone call from your doctor's office on a Monday morning. You are told that you cholesterol is high, particularly the bad kind. Add to that your triglycerides are high too, half of what they were three months ago, but still high. This is what what was saved for last: you have been diagnosed with rhadomyolysis (rab-doe-my-o-lie-sis). What is that? She tells me that she does not know and the doctor will not be back until the next day. No calls yesterday. I called twice. No calls today. Again I was told they were extremely busy, and the doctor was all by herself.
I have researched this term. This stuff can be bad, and yet, I am still waiting on a phone call.
This is not the longest I had to wait. It took me six months before I saw a neurosurgeon for the foraminal stenosis. It took me seven months to see a neurologist.
Who else has endured the medical waiting game?
