It happens, sometimes it's the best time, sometimes the worst. What exactly is the issue, though? is it I "have" to or "want" to do something in RM. Do you just open op RM and stare at the screen? if it's a motivation thing I'd recommend thinking of something new you've never done in RM before...

I love the auto-layering in MV, I have been able to use it to it's fullest potential, it's awsome.

Similar to Mass Effect where stats are transferred from one save game to another. This is a great idea and is something I will look into myself. I can't promise I'd be able to make it, I'm no pro. Hopefully someone else catches wind of this and will attempt it also.
