I've been here a while and I like the sense of family and friendship. I just meant to ask a few questions that have popped up in my head over the course of a year.

What is your primary method of advertising this forum, if any at all?

Do you consider other forums "competition" ?

How do you see this forum different from the others?

Do you seek to amass a vast forum population?

Would you say that this forum is heavily regulated or policed?

I will answer these questions from my personal and global moderator point of views, as I am not an owner nor administrator.

1. I advertise this forum, its resources, and competitions to various groups that I belong to that are in the game designing genre, various RPG Maker Facebook groups, Discord gamer servers, and also my personal Facebook page.
2. I do not see other forums as competition, due to we having different things that they may not have. Now there are some forums that I chose to not visit.
3. A major difference that I LOVE is that resources, including games can be stored directly to this site. I do not have to worry about exceeding bandwidth limitations from excessive downloads. I also love how our Resources area is organized, and each individual category of within it. I see this forum as a community.
4. I do seek a very large forum population. Each members has different reasons why they chose to be here. The large the population, the more diversity we obtain.
5. I am biased in this question regarding policing and regulating, as I have self-titled myself as The Enforcer. Many times we attempt to quickly find posts that may have links to potential hazardous sites, that may have viri.

I haven’t been a moderator since late February, but from the perspective of having been both a regular and staff member:

1. Advertising is pretty much a combination of social media and word of mouth. The social media platforms aren’t super active, however.
2. Not personally, no, but by their very function they are. All of the different communities want to amass members and create discussions, and they're all competing for the most activity/relevance.
3. I don’t. Besides the wiki and level system, there’s nothing you can do here that you can’t do or see on any other RM forum. (Yes, the resource page is technically different, but it does the same thing as tagging systems on other sites.)
4. I don’t think quantity of members is nearly as important as quality. If nobody posts, the community dies no matter how many members you have.
5. Yes and no. Regular discussions? Not really, unless there's some hardcore rule-breaking. Discussion of how the forum is run? At times, yeah, but that’s not always directly the staff’s fault. Most of the time any heated discussions get started, they go off track quickly and get the thread closed and/or deleted. There have, however, been times where posts have been deleted that weren’t breaking any rules (often ones that disagreed with an idea/main point of a topic).

What is your primary method of advertising this forum, if any at all?
I use SEO (Search Engine Optimization) as, honestly the sole form of advertisement. We're ranked on the first page on google with just about any RPG Maker MV related search.
Do you consider other forums "competition" ?
Yes they're competitors, however, I don't feel threatened or anything by them personally. People are here for one reason, and people are there for another.

How do you see this forum different from the others?
Mainly the community. From what I've heard from the vast community here is that we have the nicest staff, and community out of any other RM website. This is something I've been proud of, as well as strived for since the creation of the website.

Do you seek to amass a vast forum population?
I'm not 100% sure what you mean by this. Do I wish the site to get bigger, of course. I wish to help out everyone I possible can, and the more member base the more content we can have to help out other game developers. I personally think this site is plenty big already, and it's something I love to see every day. We may not grow as much as we did, however, we're still always growing,

Would you say that this forum is heavily regulated or policed?
I don't think it's heavily regulated, I try to make the feel of the forums relaxed. However, I do like to think it's policed. When something is in the wrong section, doesn't belong, off topic, etc. I feel that the fellow staff do a great job keeping things organized.

From the perspective of a regular member...
What is your primary method of advertising this forum, if any at all?
I tend to not pay attention to advertising on the forum, but I personally promote this and the main RPG Maker forums if people ask questions or I'm telling someone about the program/forums. The official RPG Maker forums are great for official announcements and information, but, from what I've seen and experienced, doesn't have any where near the same level of community as here.
Do you consider other forums "competition" ?
Personally, I feel the only other forum that could be classed as competition is the official forum, and only in the sense that they have official information and announcements up sooner than we do.
How do you see this forum different from the others?
The community is what makes this forum stand out above others.
Do you seek to amass a vast forum population?
As Amy put it...
I don’t think quantity of members is nearly as important as quality. If nobody posts, the community dies no matter how many members you have.
Would you say that this forum is heavily regulated or policed?
@Xyphien described my feelings perfectly.
