my names michelle! i'm twenty three & i live in canada! i love retro/classic style resources.
my strong suit is graphics and eventing. i'm still an amateur when it comes to javascript and ruby, but i'm not completely lost. i have no clue how to read, write or make music, but it's one of the things i desperately want to learn.

i'm starting to get seeeerious about making rpgm games. i'm currently working on my first (small) project which i hope to release very soon! you can check and follow my progress on tumblr.

i joined because i love getting involved with community and i want to make frenzzz. i look forward to meeting you guys!

i have no clue how to read, write or make music, but it's one of the things i desperately want to learn.

My advice is: learn an instrument. It's never too late to do that and it's gonna teach you a lot about music. More than any online tutorial ever will. Then, keep practicing. And if you ever need any help don't hesitate to ask. I'm self-taught and maybe I can share some insights with you. :)

Being part of a community is always nice. And let me tell you, we're definitely the nicest bunch of RPG makers out there at the moment. So, again, welcome to the forum where there's no "envy" only "MV".

@meowchelle It's so nice to meet you! I love designing graphics too! My major thing is coming up with parallax maps.
Also I find it interesting because you have similar interests as me, while I'm not anything great when it comes to music... I am a singer on the side... A lot of my friends say I should try to make it big with singing, but I'm kinda a loner when it comes to people.

Online however I'm a chatterbox, so you'll see me on here a lot!

@Kaimen - That's a great idea! I passed up a really good opportunity to learn piano last year while my little brother was learning. Now since I've moved away from home I totally regret it, ahh! I'll have to see what I can manage. I would love to learn how to make NES style chiptunes.

Hmmmm... at the moment I am playing tons of Gnomoria (Dwarf Fortress for n00bz). So I'm addicted to that. If you're talking about RPG Maker games I don't have many at the moment since a lot of what I've been playing have been demos here and there. If you have any to suggest let me KNOW! I like every genre, although I probably won't play any horror. I'm kind of a pansy.
PS. I love your Danse stamp on your sig! I 100% FO4 the first week it came out... I have no life. and FO2 is probably one of my all time favorite games.

Yup! When it came out I was so hyped. It's the only 100% achievements completed game I have on Steam hahaha.
If you're talking about companions, my favorites are:

Fallout 3, NV, and 4 are all so good in their own ways, but something about 2 just draws me in!
I actually ended up getting Pip Boy socks and a Nuka Cola tote bag from my bf for Christmas. AND... I got a Bobblehead haha. So cute.

But yeah, I love all sorts of games. I'm more into Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, and sim type games. Classic-esque RPGs are really awesome, too. Like Earthbound, Breath of Fire, Secret of Mana, FF, etc. That's why I really love RPG Maker (and the community).

Dwarf Fortress is probably one of the hardest games to learn how to play. If you look it up you'll see why! There are no graphics, the mechanics are unforgiving and the UI is hard to get used to in the default game (without mods). Gnomoria is almost just a simplified version of Dwarf Fortress.
They're basically city builder, town management strategy sims. Where you lead a group of people and tell them what to do so they can have a successful kingdom. You can't directly tell them to "go eat" like in the Sims, but you would give them jobs, for example Farmer. And he would do his own thing planting seeds and tending to crops. The managing part comes in making sure they have enough wood and food, etc and leveling up skills to make more versatile villagers. Gnomoria is on Steam right now if you want to check it out! It's a really addicting genre, it's hard to learn, but once you do you can't stop!

I would love to learn how to make NES style chiptunes.

There's this neat little program called "Famitracker" that is the go-to piece of software if you want to make NES-style chiptunes. I myself have never used it unfortunately so I can't provide any opinions on it. I only know that it does an amazing job and I know that there's a lot of tutorials out there that explain how to use it. I'd suggest you just give it a try. :)

Welcome to the Community! I am glad people are still interested in creating rpg games. All of us here have something which connects us with each other and that is the passion on getting ourselves involved with games.

I have no talent with music and designing whatsoever, but I could say that I am highly proficient and adaptive with programming. I guess that each person just has his/her talent which he/she excels on. And this is where our being unique comes in. I hope that we share with each other what we have and build a very helpful community together.
