New to the forums, but not new to RPG Maker. Have been using VX Ace for a little while, thought i would join the community and get some more info about the new MV engine.

I dont own the new Maker yet but am planning on buying it soon, and contributing to the community when i can.

So having introduced myself, how does the new RPGMMV compare to VXA?

Hi @Roccstar1oh1 , and welcome to the forums.

MV compared to VX Ace?
1. My Mac friends talk to me again. They felt so left out with Ace.
2. I find plugins easier to use than copying scripts into the script editor.
3. All around more fun.

You being a pixel artist, you can start immediately, even before getting the engine.
The characters are 48X48 instead of 32X32. The maps are based on 48X48 too.

Nice, yeah i read about the different resolution for mapping and textures. Do the autotile functions still work the same?

I am not really sure if i want to start creating the autotiles yet until i am able to test as i make them, but im sure i would be able to make static objects right away with out any problems.

Hey Rocc, welcome aboard! I'm still a newbie with MV, but one new thing I really love is the built-in character generator. it's so nice not having to use a 3rd party site to make my characters!

Hello and welcome to the forum~
I used to play a lot with ace too but there are still a few differences in the maker. I love the char generator, the bigger graphics and omg js yes. But I personally love the auto overlay mapping. Have a nice time rpg making and hope to see you around~ also feel free to ask if you need anything
