I am new to RPG makers in general but am an enthusiastic learner. Have logged some 300 hours thus far while just learning the basics with a mini game NOT including view the many helpful Youtube tutorials for RPG maker MV and image manipulation.
Said mini game is done and so now I am beginning a more challenging project where I will be working on class/skill/weapon creation (which I didn't focus on in my first project).
So far I enjoy all the facets, including image manipulation, as well as learning spriting, and find programming the most challenging.
I am retired and have plenty of time to spend on educating myself. All tips are appreciated. THANKS!

The learning takes so much time and you get a feeling of how long it takes to create a short part of a game. It's so much work right? But it's so much fun creating and I think 300 hours for a 1 1/2 game hours play time is actually pretty quick. I spent two months (afternoons after school) and only produced a one hour demo with partly custom graphics and many incomplete parts
Anyways glad to have you here. Have fun rpg making and see you around.
