How do I disable email alerts?

I keep getting email alerts from the site.
How can I disable this?

Go to your 'Contact Details' then untick 'Recieve site mailings'

Edit: Nevermind, untick 'Receive email when a new conversation message is received' :p

I have just checked and it is currently unticked. Which means I am receiving emails even if it's unticked.

Interesting, tick then untick it? Did you click 'Apply'? I don't know, stating the obvious just to double check.

I think I found it.
Under Preferences there are these options:

• Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply...
  • and receive email notifications of replie
