Map transfer help

Recently was converting an old project from VXA to MV. They changed the map size, so I needed to break it up. Now I need help with map transferring. There is a large area of open grassland between the two maps. I could make an event for each and every square, but that seem inefficient.

Is there a way, a plugin or such, to allow for easy transferring between the two maps?

Shaz made a plugin which transfers the player by the edge of the map but I think it takes a bit of time to setup.
