"Negative" post feedback

I'm wondering whether it'd be a bit friendlier to have the "negative" post feedback options removed from the bottom-right of posts?

Eg, dislike.

I say this because it could be seen as a source of bullying or somesuch if some mean person (or whatever) decides they hate someone and therefore goes on a disliking/disagreeing/off-topic-making/short post-marking etc spree.

Sure, it could be argued that if these things are bothering people so much, they shouldn't be on the internet. However, these actual points are viewable on your profiles and could also affect other people's perceptions of you!

Mine at the moment is: Ratings Received: +1 / 1 / -0

I am guessing left column is positive, middle is neutral and right is negative (due to the colour coding).

Sure, it could also be said that they should not be taken seriously, but this doesn't mean that everyone will decide to "not take them seriously". After all, if they didn't, then why would they vote on the posts in the first place? That line of thinking would probably just render the whole voting thing null and void anyway.

So therefore my proposal is simply to remove the "negative" post feedback and just have said "negative" posts dealt with by staff members accordingly so that someone who just happens to be "disliked" a lot - unjustifiably - in a topic doesn't end up with a massive backlash or the target of a bully or something like that.

Sure, some of you may disagree, but please state why :P

I agree with you, the dislikes is just not needed. A majority of the time we dont need to know if you like or dislike anything and it opens up the options of trolling random posts. Imagine getting a dislike for asking a support question, sound de-motivating and wrong. Plus a lot of feedback should be given when you dislike something, this way you can actually take it and work on it, rather than being left hanging with a dislike counter on your post lol.

Yep, I agree. But maybe instead of removing the "negative" feedback, maybe make it so that, if you dislike something, give a reasoning why. Or is that more like a report? I don't know. Maybe it is right to remove "negative" feedback. o_O

Alright, I'll go ahead and remove that seeing as everyone agrees on this matter :) Thank you for taking the time to voice your opinion, it's greatly appreciated.

Edit: I've removed all negative related sections from the like bar :)
