So I'm not exactly new to making maps though I'm not exactly a professional. I like trying to make semi natural maps by using the pencil tool and my drawing tablet to try and make as whimsical a map as possible meaning other than thinking of what a map needs I have little real clue what the end result will be.

This is a map I made. I'm not done with it as I know there are quite a few errors (Messed up trees, intersecting pieces, ect) But I like the direction it was going, but it lead to an argument between me and a friend, He believes it is to big and spaced out to be a game map and I tried to explain when I made it I imagined a crafting community, one that started off with people in tents to slowly making their buildings, they wouldn't be organized in a typical town fashion.

I feel I may be missing a couple important buildings, and I will be adding more NPC houses, but overall I built this to be a nice, open community in a valley, but if I truly did make it too big and spaced out I'd need to know so I can try again with feedback. Afterall, this will be the most important community in my game so I wanna build it right, even if it ends up not looking how I thought it would.

I'd also like to hear about how people determain the size of their maps, and if the purpose is always in mind and if anything is sacrificed from "How it should be" to be easier on gamers.

A little tip, you should try the shadows on the buildings with the shadow pen to draw the shadows wehre you used the roofs of tile C . Here can use the houses from Tileset A as help.
