I been noticing this as well, hopefully we find a fix for it, in the meantime we will have to try and work around it just by spacing out the : so something like this NOTICE : should work for now.

@Xyphien has been a busy man, but now that I have tagged him he will more than likely see this and elaborate on this issue for us the next time he is back on :)

He is right. I have been extremely busy. I won't be on much tomorrow, or the day after either sadly. I'm trying to hop on as much as I can the last few days, but we've been hit with a lot of stuff we had/have to do.

As for this, this should already be set to : + 3 :3 I added the E : as well, I'll simply remove this tag and keep the rest as is.

As for just turning them off, or adding () around everything, I'm not really a fan of that, because then members will have to manually go through the smiley list, or type (:3) and it'd take a lot longer, and people simply would not use them. So then, we'd have plain old, boring emoticons half the time, followed by smileys the other half. I personally see nothing wrong with this as of now, though I am more than happy to change any smileys that prove a huge problem.

Well, in my opinion, two letters should never create an emoticon. I'm not going to go through the list to point out exactly which ones... but my example before B and D together make 8D while it can just simply be 8 and D like it already is set up to be instead.

Maybe we will make a separate thread or this thread with a list of smiley emoticons that seem to be causing issues with normal discussions, and we can slowly go through this list and fix them.

Or... users can have the OPTION to turn off the auto-emoticons. Instead of forcing them to deal with it. The more options people have, the better. I personally hate graphical emoticons. And if I need to go back and edit out the auto-emoticons out of my project thread, it's going to get annoying.

Update: If you do not want to have a smiley added to a post. So, for example you want to turn 8D into 8D or anything into the original text, all you do is add
Code: 
[plain][/plain]
around it. So for 8D you'd put
Code: 
[plain]8D[/plain]
