Tileset Elevation Trouble...

Hey guys, new member here. I'm having a bit more trouble with tilesets in terms of elevated surfaces than I remember having back in the VX days. I remember in VX when I would have multiple levels of elevation on a single map connected by stairs they would usually reconcile automatically. With MV however, it seems as if the program is having trouble acknowledging differences in height in terms of walkable surfaces. Presently, I have created teleport pads on a lower level connected by stairs which are supposed to lead the player to a higher floor, however, the sides of the stairs and teleport pad seem easily passable where ideally they should not allow the player to do so. These "walls" also need to be walked upon after ascending the stairs. I made sure to first consult the Help guide in the software, but the way it describes the behaviors of the tiles has e a bit confused. The purple ground tiles are currently in A5 (Normal) and the lower level teleport pad tiles, as well as the stair tiles are located in tab B. I have Included a screenshot illustrating what I suspect is probably an easy fix that I'm just not catching onto. Suggestions?
