Hey guys, hope this is the right area to post this.

I recolored a lot of MV tiles...I like my games dark. I did not edit the smoke animation, did edit the smokestacks though.

That said, using a tileset I edited and did not collage together myself, everything works...but the roof tile-set I put together does not layer correctly....Pictures attached. Just curious how to fix. photo is in game. in the editor everything looks fine.

You have to make the smoke event either as above player or as same as player :) Cool map though! There are a few issues with the roofs you have there

do you have the stacks as events or as tiles? Click with the roof tile o the roof again and add the stack on it, that should do bc build in overlay mapping ;) Hope this helps~

I have them as tiles with the smoke as events.

Nope no dice, tried it still looks the same as above. I essentially cleared the layer system on that one tile, put the roof down, then put the stack.. and still its showing the stack under the roof tile.

I think its due to the roof tile being designated with a star in the tileset, but its not a problem for tilesets that came with MV so I must be missing something somewhere else.
[doublepost=1465397577,1465397229][/doublepost]There has got to be a way to do it without sacrificing my ability to walk behind the building.

it is supposed to work...? Maybe you can edit it in the graphics with the steam, so you go to the .png file open it in gimp, copy the stack three times and add it on a layer under the steam layer and save it as .png again.

Maybe you can try making the roof again? It really is supposed to work, thats weird. Are u using three tiles on a tile? mv can sadly only handle two tiles (except for terrains ofc)

yeah, I know it is supposed to but for some reason its not.

Well the smoke/steam isnt the problem ...just that the smokestack is for some reason being given priority in the layer system... I guess I will have to just mess around in the tileset system until I figure it out or just make a small (sigh) tile set for each of the roof sections I want to put a custom stack on.

It works if the roof isnt set as a "star" in the system...but I don't want to give up that tile behind the building.
